Hello beautiful people.
I just felt compelled to share a little knowledge nugget with you guys because I've found myself wondering about you Sheabutter lovers and since I make and sell it I want to make sure you're storing your products correctly.
Here we go. All natural products has the potential to spoil, turn rancid whichever term you may use for such an event. I happen to know for a fact that many of you are not storing your Sheabutter properly.
Sheabutter should be kept refrigerated or frozen in between use. I mean my goodness it's a butter a nut butter but a butter all the same. You wouldn't keep butter that you cook with out for weeks or days unrefrigerated and then decide to cook with it so treat your Sheabutter the same way.
I know, I know some of you have never heard of refrigerating your Sheabutter and thought simply storing it in a cool dry place away from direct sun was enough but it's not especially if you care about freshness and prolonging the use of your product.
So, I hope this little tidbit of info helps. Remember Sheabutter is a butter, it will melt on hot days and it will turn rancid or spoil if it's not stored properly. Safety first and always.
